This month’s question: In your mind, what was your best first date?
Jean | 31, River West
“I wasn’t happy going out at 1:00 in the morning, but we ended up getting two bottles of wine, two glasses and some chocolate, and we went to the beach. And stayed there to watch the sun rise until 7:30 in the morning.”
Christina | 30
“I went out with this really grungy guy from a band, and we went to Chili’s. I was like, Chili’s, really? But we had this really great conversation, and then when we got back to his place later, he played me a song on his guitar.”
Jen | 30, Lakeview
“I haven’t had any. All first dates suck. Second dates, though, they’re good. Drinks, dessert and a walk.”
Scott | 29, Lakeview
“I was in Boston for work for two months, and while I was there, a mutual friend of ours told my now girlfriend to call me because she was in the same area for a wedding. We met in Harvard Square, had dinner at the North End and completely hit it off. She moved in with me a few months ago.”
Bridget | 29,
Gold Coast
“I don’t know, but it involved a lot of drinking.”
Margaret | 30,
Logan Square
“It involved flowers, pizza and beer.”
Yuri | 27,
Logan Square
“Pizza, beer and sex. No elaboration needed.”
Sarah | Lakeview
“My best first date had to be when a friend of several years asked me out. We went to a great BYOB in Logan Square, where he presented my favorite pinot noir and on the table was a vase of my favorite flowers. We then went to a blues bar that I always wanted to go to but hadn’t had the chance. The fact that he went to great lengths to pay attention to the small stuff made it the best.”
