This month’s question: What is your favorite dive bar in the city?

Kerry | 26, Lincoln Park
“Mine is Sterch’s on Lincoln. We have this one bar in my small hometown in Ohio, and Sterch’s just reminds me of that. I met my boyfriend on St. Patrick’s Day this year, and Sterch’s was our last stop, so it has special meaning for me. I remember dropping his broken cell phone in beer.”

Chris | 25, Lincoln Park
“Tequila Roadhouse down on Wells. We’d always go there after rugby practice. The booths were old car seats. You can’t beat that.”

Jagady | 32, Uptown
“Blue Frog on LaSalle and Huron. When I moved here 12 years ago, I lived three doors down. They have a burger called the Sloppy Mary that has chili, cheese, jalepenos, onions, tater tots and more cheese. It has drinks like the Island Swine, the Pink Pig, all of your favorite board games, and the owners are there all the time.”

Emily | 26, Lincoln Park
“Mine would be Beaumont’s. I’ve been to Beaumont’s a lot, but the times where I actually remember being there are few and far between. The times I’ve been there sober, I’ve witnessed the most disturbing display of rhythmic movement on the dance floor you can imagine.”

Michelle | 26, Lakeview
“I would say Galaway Bay on Diversey. We go there before Bears games on Sunday mornings sometimes. It has only three martini glasses in the whole place and only men working there. And they have these huge leather seats from the back of a car you can sit on.”

Dan | 30, Lakeview
“Delilah’s is my favorite. They have punk music on the juke box, beers from all over the world and something different happening each night. Despite the dive look of the place, it’s probably cooler than you are.”

Matt | 31, Lincoln Park
“Yakzie’s on Diversey was pretty cool until it closed down recently. I’ve seen a little bit of everything there, including a guy sticking his hand down the back of a girl’s pants while he was hitting on her friend. And they had good chicken sandwiches.”

Heather | 30, Roscoe Village
“I don’t do dive bars, unless it’s Hill’s Tap in Genoa, Illinois.”
