This month’s question:
What do you think about coming to college in a big city?

Sydney Pryor | 20 | South Suburbs
“I guess living down here was a lot different. There’s a lot more people, it’s noisier, always something going on. The thing is, coming from the south suburbs I always came downtown.”

Sara Sicking | 19 | St. Louis
“I love it. It’s larger than life. Very urban. It’s a lot different than where I came from.”

Elizabeth Adegboyega-Panox | 21 | Washington, D.C.
“I came to college at 17, so I think that I had more of a difficult transition time socially because I was younger than all of the other students. But I think growing up in a city gave me an advantage...most people I met were from small towns and hadn’t experienced the bustling city.”

Laura Bychowski | 18 | Wheaton, IL
“It’s exciting. There’s always something to do. Lots of good food. Everything is expensive with taxes. It’s culturally diverse.”

Amanda Gaura | 20 | Green Bay, WI
“I think it’s great because of the different schools you get in one place, so that you get to meet all different types of people and majors.”

Jamie Sean Bradley | 20 | Lowell, IN
“As a journalism student, I think it’s beneficial because you not only get small campus news, but you get all kinds of news outside of the campus about other subjects than just college.”

Sarah Phillips | 20 | Kansas City, MO
“I really like it because it gives you a different kind of atmosphere than when you go to a state school, and you get to be exposed to different kinds of culture and opportunities that you wouldn’t necessarily have in small towns.”

Edward Henry | 19 | Sacramento, CA
“I came to Chicago because I wanted to come to a big city...if I was going to come to the Midwest, I was only coming to Chicago. My major is international studies, so I figured it’s a good place to study. Oh, and Chicago has a subway system.”
