How you ended up here: I have always had an interest in the creative arts and wanted to have my own business. I did some research and decided to take a chance and went for it.

How long you’ve been at it: I started making and designing jewelry in college and continued as a creative outlet alongside my corporate job in advertising until I decided to do this full-time in 2003.

Who you answer to, if anyone: Myself, the harshest critic of all.

Hours you’re usually at work: At work is wherever I am. My mind is always thinking about things I have to do, designs I want to create, different ways to market my business and sales I need to make, etc.

Breakdown of what people anticipate from you: Creative, stylish jewelry with high-quality craftsmanship and beautiful gemstones.

What your friends assume you do all day: Sit around making pretty jewelry.

Best perk: Lots of great jewelry!

I know it’s a good day when: I'm out, and I see women wearing my jewelry.

I have trouble dealing with... so much to do and everything is a priority.

The right piece of jewelry can... completely change an outfit and make you feel like a million bucks!

Does jewelry design make you feel like an artist? Jewelry design is an art. I feel most like an artist when I am in the process of designing in my studio.

What did you feel like when you had your first pieces or collection picked up by a store? I was proud and excited to have my original designs sold at a fine retailer.

What kind of advice can you give men when it comes to picking out that special something for a wife or girlfriend? Think about what she would like and her own personal style rather than just what you like.

What might you change if given the chance? Not much. I feel very lucky.

Why you have a smile when you come to work: I get to design beautiful jewelry that puts a smile on a woman’s face every time she puts it on and celebrates happy times.

Where can you go from here? Sky’s the limit... only time will tell.

Advice for joining the field: Be persistent and stay inspired. It’s a lot of work but all worth it!
